About Glenn...

Glenn H. Youngling became extensively involved with community associations in the mid-1970's. While prosecuting construction defect actions, the associations also needed extensive general counsel advice at a time when attorneys and real estate professionals were still finding their way on the subject. He was involved with the fledgling Community Associations Institute and became a founding member and director (1981-1984) of the local chapter of CAI (CAI Bay-Cen). He also became heavily involved with the Executive Council of Homeowners (ECHO) in the Bay Area. He continues to participate in these and other industry organizations. Since the late 1970's, Mr. Youngling has been a speaker at over 50 seminars and workshops and he has written numerous articles on all facets of community associations. He has also served as a litigation expert on the subjects of Director and Association standards of care.

Mr. Youngling graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Pacific. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1978 from Hastings College of the Law where he was the Associate editor of the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review (1977-1978). He is a member of the Marin and Ohio Bar Associations and sits on the ECHO Legal Resource Panel and the ECHO North Bay Resource Panel. Examples of seminars he has given include: "Navigating One Billion Websites: Help for Directors and Managers," "All You Ever Wanted to Know About Architectural Modifications," "Associations in Crisis: Dealing with Big Surprises," and "Voting and Elections Procedures." Articles have included "Contract Concepts: The Basics" and "Red Flag Words You Cannot Ignore: Indemnification, Hold Harmless, Defense."

Glenn is married, has two daughters, a son-in-law currently serving in the United States Air Force, and lives in Marin. When not with his family, he can usually be found sailing or racing his J-105 named Hazardous Waste.
